Odesk Tutorial





What is oDesk?
oDesk is a freelance site where your services can get paid by the hour or by fixed-price bids. A client gets to post their job so that they can get a freelancer (termed as provider) to do that particular job. These are contracted work where the client can handpick his freelancers or he can wait for active freelancers to apply to his job. oDesk posts a wide range of jobs such as data entry, writing, programming, graphics and web design jobs. So basically, oDesk is a third-party website that makes it easier for clients to find freelancers, and vice versa.
What is Freelancing:
Freedom of work or working for your self is called Freelancing. Here there is no restriction on boss of you. Quitmy job and work for myself is called Freelancing.

Top most reason for Freelance work:
01. You can work in your own schedule.
02. You can work from your own Home.
03. You do not go outside for freelance work.
04. You do not go to office.
05. You do not have a boss of over you.
06. You can earn as you wish.
07. Your home is your office &
08. Your reading table is your desk.

First of all you need a Computer with internet connection. You need to know how to use computer and how to browse internet. If you know about computer and internet then you finished your 70%
 work.



How to Complete Your oDesk Profile 100%:


go to  ODESK.com and register

Step 1. After Registration Fill out your contact information.




Step 2. After Complete step 1 then a new window will appear like that.





Click on the Complete your oDesk Profile and new windows will appear.





Select upto 10 categories which you are expert. If you are data entry professional then select Data Entry,Personal Assistant, Web Research, and Other Administrative Support. If you are Sales and Marketing Expert Then select SEO, SEM, SMM etc.
Step 3. After Complete the step 2 then you will get a new windows like that




If you are a data entry professional then select Data Entry Professional Or If  you are a Website designer then selectWebsite/Graphics Designer.
If you are a data entry professional then put 2.5-3$ per hour in the Desired Hourly Rate (USD) field or if you are a website designer then put 5-10$ per hour.
In the Availability field put 40 hours if you want to work as full time worker or put 20 hours if you want to work as a part time worker.
Title Put Data entry professional, Administrative support if you are a data entry professional.
Then click save and continue.

Step 4. After Complete the step 3 then click in the settings and Go to Contactor Profile.
Click on the Edit of My Public Profile section and a new windows will appear like that-



Then Fill out the option like the screen shot. Remember objective should be written with Good English and always write  your skills in the objective sections. Don’t copy paste from others. No need to write any thing in the Example of a good Objectives and Examples Of Bad objectives Field. Click on the Save

Step 5.Skip the  Categories Section because you have already done that in step 2. Now click on the Add of the Skills section.



If you are data entry expert then add data entry, Microsoft Office, Web research etc.

Step 6: If you worked in a company before then click on the Add of the  Employment History and fill out your working details.






Step 7: Fill out your education details in the Education section



Step 8: Then portfolio section. That means your past working sample. Put some working sample what you did before. Add as much you can. Don’t copy from others. Its violets the oDesk terms and Policy.
